HER exit from Home and Away earlier this year came as a shock but beach babe Indiana Evans has landed on her feet - or rather, in deep water.
The long-haired beauty has landed a fitting role on Channel Ten's popular kids' show H2O: Just Add Water and will play Bella, one of three young girls who lead double lives as mermaids.
The gig could be a huge door-opener for the former Summer Bay local who was recently announced as the winner of the Queen Teen award at the 2008 Dolly Teen Choice Awards.
Earlier this year the 21-year-old was bounced from the long-running soapie after four-and-a-half years playing Matilda Hunter.
While not exactly a show that commands massive ratings in Oz, H2O: Just Add Water is a mammoth hit around the world and is seen in more than 100 countries, with a worldwide audience of over 200 million viewers.
"I am looking forward to playing the character of Bella and taking on a new challenge," said Evans, who is dating her former Home And Away co-star Lincoln Lewis.
"The production quality is one factor, given that it's shot on film, and the physical aspect, which will be quite demanding.
"The series is highly regarded in the international market and I'm really excited to be joining the team in series three."
Cariba Heine and Phoebe Tonkin star as the remaining two tailed teens in the program which is approaching its third series and set to begin pre-production on the Gold Coast next month.
